The Girl Who Left Destiny is a coming-of-age novel that shows how escape is necessary to reconnect with one's true identity: everywhere is home only if the roots of the self are well-established.
“The Girl Who Abandoned Destiny” by Alessandro Niccoli
Safaa is a teenager who firmly believes in the goodness of people but, rejected by the world around her and misunderstood by her family, chooses to embark on a journey of self-discovery and nature.
He encounters medieval festivals, ancient villages, and unspoilt forests with his fellow adventurers. He then visits southern Morocco, where he immerses himself in a different and fascinating culture, finding, through confrontation and moral enrichment, his inner harmony and the strength to face life's challenges.
In a combination of introspective narrative and continuous exchanges with the other and the new, The Girl Who Forsaken Destiny is a coming-of-age novel that shows how escape is necessary to reconnect with one's true identity: anywhere is home only if the roots of the self are firmly established.
Alessandro Niccoli was born on January 2, 1968 in San Miniato (Pisa); a medieval village immersed in the woods of Tuscany, which inspired him in his writings and in his interest in common goods. As a lawyer, he led the political opposition in his city, to preserve the environment from cementing. In 2021 he published 'Nafis and the Colourful Hallways, the story of a boy who rebels against climate change (Environmental Fiction).
From a technical point of view, the historical novel L'odore delle Rose can be defined as a prosimeter, that is, a literary work in which verse and prose alternate in a sweet and balanced way. The prosimeter finds the fulcrum of its splendor in the Middle Ages, to then be progressively abandoned. Niccoli manages to resurrect its soul, carrying out an almost magical operation: on the one hand, he safeguards the philosophical-religious motifs as well as the musical harmony typical of the origins, on the other, he updates the contents and enriches them with intimate instances.

Nafis and the Coloured Corridors
published in 2021, it is the first complete edition with scientific data for high schools (with Easy Reader font for dyslexics) and for adults (republished in 2024 with the title “ I Ragazzi della generazione tradita ”, a version for a wider audience and for younger people).
It is an environmental narrative novel (in vogue in Anglo-Saxon countries):
the journey of the young protagonist immerses himself in the dark world of capitalist power, offering an in-depth look at the internal dynamics of financial powers that influence the lives of entire communities with their toxic and environmentally harmful products.
